摘要: The WHO classification of lymphomas was established on the basis clinical, morphological, immunohistochemical and genetic criteria. However, each entity displays its own spectrum clinical aggressiveness. Treatment success varies widely is not predictable. Since galectins are involved in oncogenesis physiology immune cells, we investigated whether galectin-1 galectin-3 expression could differ 25 normal lymphoid tissues, 42 non-Hodgkins 14 Hodgkins lymphomas. Immunohistochemical galectin submitted to semi-quantitative quantitative (computer-assisted microscopy) evaluations. This study completed by an analysis (by means RT-PCR) mRNA 3 lymph nodes, follicular (FLs) diffuse large B-cell (DLBCLs). data show that tissue, lymphocytes do express rarely galectin-3. In contrast, expressed 8 16 DLBCL cases 1 FL cases. Furthermore, times more DLBCLs than FLs. While blood vessel walls galectin-1, tissues did not. correlated with vascular density. present thus shows can be distinguished from tissue other expression.
