摘要: Aims: Tenascin-C (TN-C) is an extracellular matrix brain glycoprotein for which conflicting in vitro and vivo results are reported the literature dealing with its involvement astrocytoma aggressiveness, particular invasion. In view of these lack data available on low-grade astrocytomas, present study focuses pilocytic World Health Organization (WHO) grade I, diffuse WHO II that is, two histological entities associated very different invasive abilities. Methods: Using real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction immunohistochemistry, we analysed TN-C expression normal tissue as well a series 54 53 astrocytomas. Conclusions: Our showed while largely expressed supratentorial white matter, it was absent infratentorial matter. Paralleling observations, astrocytomas similarly varies according to tumour site. Cox regression analysis evidenced provided independent prognostic value enhanced case positive higher risk recurrence. We also specifically vascular areas without demonstrating any this additional feature. Results: Similarly brain, exhibit variations site, terms
