Male Pseudohermaphroditism: Long-term Quality of Life Outcome in Five 46,XY Individuals Reared Female

摘要: We assessed the adult quality of life five medical chart-selected genetic males (ages 29-34 years) assigned and reared as females due to ambiguity external genitalia. All were treated following traditional method proposed by John Money colleagues in 1955, commonly referred "optimal gender policy". The follow-up assessment included physical endocrinological evaluation, completion self-report questionnaires, a semi-structured interview assessing identity, sexual experience orientation. Quality domains questionnaire health-related issues, satisfaction with health-care management, emotional distress, relationship satisfaction. Vaginoplasty four out patients was initially unsuccessful. Four had periodic lapses adherence hormone replacement therapy. Gender role behavior across development masculine relative norms for women. participants reported female identity without history dysphoria. majority (four five) being sexually active long-term relationships (three heterosexual, one homosexual). Current adaptation are within normal range participants. Sex assignment 46,XY individuals ambiguous genitalia is compatible positive life.
