摘要: Considerable heterogeneity is present in drug abuse. People differ tendency to use drugs, age of onset and duration use, pharmacokinetic pharmacodynamic response liability expression dependence, consequences use. In the general population, falls on a continuum ranging from abstinence chronic daily While most people never take illicit drugs nor engage nonmedical psychotherapeutics, an estimated 37% population reports having done so at least once their lifetime (SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION 1993). Population prevalence varies with availability as well number demographic variables (e.g., sex, occupation, education, marital status, employment, age, race, geographical region) (FLEWELLING et al. 1992)
