Development of a Tool to Measure Clinical Competence in Occupational Therapy: A Pilot Study?

摘要: Clinical competence is generally defined as a combination of knowledge, skill and professional behaviour. It typically assessed using written tests, direct observation, chart audit, client satisfaction surveys supervisor ratings. This paper describes the development evaluation chart-stimulated recall (CSR) measure that combines methods audit clinician interview to assess clinical practicing occupational therapists. The CSR tool was developed Canadian Guidelines for Client-Centred Practice taps global domains competence: use theory, assessment, program planning, intervention, discharge follow-up, evaluation, reasoning behaviours. pilot study involved two independent raters/interviewers who twelve therapy clinicians on occasions random sample cases/records each occasion Results indicate not only reliable valid, but also sufficiently generic be used in variety practice settings on-the-job performance.
