Quality of care in family practice: does residency training make a difference?

摘要: As the proportion of physicians who enter residency training in family practice steadily increases, so does need to evaluate impact their and postgraduate education on quality care practices. We audited practices 120 randomly selected Ontario, were separated into four groups: nonmembers College Family Physicians Canada (CFPC), members CFPC with no certification medicine, certificated without medicine medicine. The assessed according predetermined criteria for charting, procedures periodic health examination, medical use indicator drugs. Generally scores significantly higher than those other groups, having lowest scores. Patient questionnaires indicated difference satisfaction specific aspects between groups. Self-selection membership may account some results; nevertheless, findings support contention that should be mandatory physicians.
