摘要: The crystal structure and pro-inflammatory property of a lectin from the seeds Dioclea wilsonii (DwL) were analyzed to gain better understanding structure/function relationships Diocleinae lectins. Following crystallization structural determination by standard molecular replacement techniques, DwL was found be tetramer based on PISA analysis, composed two metal-binding sites per monomer loops which are involved in oligomerization. presents 96% 99% identity with other previously described lectins rostrata (DRL) grandiflora (DGL). differs structurally DVL DRL regard conformation carbohydrate recognition domain related biological activities. analysis comparison can differences dose-dependent effect elicited Wistar rats, probably via specific interactions mast cells complex carbohydrate, resulting significant paw edema. appears positive modulation cell degranulation surface carbohydrates. Since this is dependent site volume CRD configuration, edematogenesis mediated resident varies potency efficacy among different
