摘要: The crystal structure and pro-inflammatory property of a lectin from the seeds Dioclea wilsonii (DwL) were analyzed to gain better understanding structure/function relationships Diocleinae lectins. Following crystallization structural determination by standard molecular replacement techniques, DwL was found be tetramer based on PISA analysis, composed two metal-binding sites per monomer loops which are involved in oligomerization. presents 96% 99% identity with other previously described lectins rostrata (DRL) grandiflora (DGL). differs structurally DVL DRL regard conformation carbohydrate recognition domain related biological activities. analysis comparison can differences dose-dependent effect elicited Wistar rats, probably via specific interactions mast cells complex carbohydrate, resulting significant paw edema. appears positive modulation cell degranulation surface carbohydrates.
