摘要: A 70-year-old woman with a history of knee osteoarthritis was admitted for acute arthritis 9 days after second intraarticular injection sodium hyaluronan (Ostenil). The joint fluid purulent, no crystals, and laboratory tests showed marked inflammation, leading to antibiotic treatment suspected septic arthritis. Incapacitating symptoms persisted, prompting surgical lavage the knee, which failed relieve severe pain. persistent negative results blood cultures led discontinuation therapy 10 days. Antiinflammatory relieved symptoms, patient discharged home 1 month her admission. Nevertheless, pain requiring rehabilitation knee. Aseptic induced by repeated is most likely diagnosis.
