摘要: Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) is a common complication in pregnancy and influences morbidity mortality at all stages of life. Historically, the management IUGR has been dependent on antenatal biophysical testing umbilical artery Doppler studies. With recent studies fetal central circulation, including intracardiac flows ductus venosus, better timing delivery to minimize may be possible. This review will provide reader with tools diagnose IUGR, more accurately date poor dating criteria, assess condition fetus. A brief animal models presented demonstrate research directions for answering human clinical questions potentially carrying therapeutic intervention from bench bedside.
