摘要: This chapter examines the relationship between atopic disorders and parasitic infections. Atopy is an exaggerated IgE-mediated Type-1 immune response in predisposed individuals. Conflicting information exists regard to of infections classic allergic diseases, that is, dermatitis, rhinitis asthma. Attention paid explanations for these discrepancies literature found within both human animal studies on atopy with particular emphasis helminthic The factors cause only a proportion individuals develop clinical disease have not been defined although helminths confer protection many examined. Early childhood help induce Th1-biased immunity prevent induction Th2 system causes atopy. Acute may increase manifestations allergy, whereas chronic parasites decrease predisposition. Nonetheless, causal association geohelminth infection has established. Some substances, especially cytokines, respiratory anti-allergic effects, therefore become useful as therapeutic modalities disorders.
