摘要: Cadherins are a protein family of Ca2+-dependent transmembrane-type cell adhesion molecules. They mediate cell-cell by homophilic binding. All solid tissues in vertebrates express some Cadherins. Very importantly for their function, the different Cadherin subtypes show distinct developmental and tissue-specific patterns expression display corresponding binding specificities. In this way, thought to influence sorting, morphogenesis, maintenance adult (Takeichi, 1988, 1991; Kemler et al., 1989).
