摘要: Sphingolipids (SLs) are essential structural and signaling molecules of eukaryotic cells. Among them, sphingosine 1 phosphate (S1P) is a recognized promoter cell survival, also involved, inter alia, in inflammation tumorigenesis processes. The knowledge modulation the enzymes implicated biosynthesis degradation S1P capital to control intracellular levels this lipid and, ultimately, determine fate. Starting with general overview main metabolic pathways involved SL metabolism, review mainly focused on description most relevant findings concerning development modulators S1P, namely inhibitors regulating synthesis (sphingosine kinases) phosphatase lyase). In addition, brief significant agonists antagonists at receptors addressed.
