摘要: A.sTRAc'r.-Habitat use by breeding and migrating shorebirds was studied at three sites in southcentral Saskatchewan from May through August 1984, a year of extreme drought conditions. Habitat among species examined using ordination classification analyses. At each site, analyses identified four major groups different zones terrestrial-aquatic habitat gradient. Patterns differed between breeders migrants the one site with large numbers nesting individuals; average seasonal shift greater for than migrants. Overall, taxonomic two sites, but this pattern reduced to only when patterns were examined. There no significant difference taxa changes use. Interspecific differences are discussed regard morphology, annual cycles, migration chronology. Received 7 Jan. 1988, accepted 6 June 1988.
