摘要: SUMMARY The Pampas shorebird community is comprised of species from diverse taxonomic and faunal origin. Four major groups can be recognized: North American migrants residing in coastal Buenos Aires Province during their non-breeding season, Patagonian wintering locally but breeding further south, Pampean locally, Brazil–Paraguayan present season. Because differences among these the timing migration patterns, composition shows marked seasonal variation. Both nesting birds use a diversity habitat types ranging littoral sandy beaches to upland grasslands. Throughout year, however, all types, non-breeders predominate number abundance. Intra- inter-specific patterns aggression suggest both that resources are limiting, may play an important role determining composition.
