摘要: Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has become a standard design tool for modern sophisticated aircraft. This paper reviews methods that were used some existing jet transport aircraft at time when theoretical tools had very limited capability. Early designers combined available theory and empirical data with sufficient skill to develop highly successful They also overcome serious problems sometimes arose only after first flight, due aerodynamic phenomena not predicted. Some of these are discussed in detail this paper. The questions whether CFD would have warned provided necessary solutions is addressed. It concluded that, many cases, the answer negative. Comparisons between two-dimensional airfoil compressibility drag rise, converted finite wing rise using simple sweep theory, flight test results show good agreement. A rapid method compressibili ty prediction based On suggested. will define can be expected if do proper job, thereby allowing early performance prediction. Actual task three-dimensional body code including viscous shock wave effects.
