摘要: In this chapter we summarize the role of cytokines in radiation response, focusing particular on growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF-15), and give a brief overview our ongoing experiments mouse mammary carcinoma model. The principal function, receptor, signaling pathway GDF-15 remain uncertain, although several its biological activities have already been described; exact cancer progression also remains poorly understood. Increased expression is common feature many cancers. Several studies observed upregulation GDF15 mRNA protein tumor biopsy. Serum levels are often markedly elevated cases metastatic cancer, appear to occur parallel with stages extent disease, particularly prostate melanoma [Senapati et al., 2010, Boyle 2009]. Indeed, number described an antitumorigenic function for GDF-15, by which it induces apoptosis may negatively affect [Cekanova 2009, Jutooru Prevention eliminating promoters, early diagnosis new target treatment keys reduce numbers deaths caused breast cancer. present study, propose that increases radioresistance. Recent research focused molecular targets sensitization cells. It interest potential proteins involved sensitization, identified cellular pathways.
