摘要: Abstract Rationale and Objectives The purpose of this study was to determine if annual total work relative value units (RVUs) can be used accurately compare physician productivity effort among a small group similarly trained radiologists. Materials Methods procedures for nine abdominal imaging radiologists were obtained. RVU assigned each procedure summed radiologist. daily mean earnings by duty service (eg, ultrasound [US], gastrointestinal radiology) calculated radiologist the entire group. Results Annual RVUs earned six full-time ranged widely (5,000 >9,000). Mean per day all also (74 US vs 23 radiology). range within narrower, however, had almost no statistical significance. wider resulted primarily from unequal distribution assignments. For example, with more days spent performing radiology lower compared computed tomography or US. Conclusion is an accurate measure income production but may inaccurate individual because differences in In relatively homogeneous radiologists/practitioners, such comparison should done service, correcting methodology used, assignment services rarely equalized across physicians.
