摘要: PURPOSE OF REVIEW Transcatheter aortic-valve implantation is a promising new treatment modality for patients with disease, where it may revolutionize the of elderly and high-risk patients. RECENT FINDINGS The two devices currently available, Edwards Sapien valve Medtronic CoreValve system, are presented. With focus on CoreValve, we describe indications, contraindications, procedural technique, cardiologist heart surgeon team dynamics, special considerations in concomitant cardiopulmonary peripheral arterial low gradient aortic stenosis, previous bioprosthetic replacement. CONCLUSION We make case judicious team-based adoption these technologies emphasize need evidence-based health economics data. believe that above will enable determining therapeutic niche modalities amongst excellent results conventional replacement surgery.
