摘要: Background: Non-exercise activity thermogenesis has recently drawn attention because of its potential to prevent weight gain. Aim: This study evaluated the relationships between duration daily non-sedentary activities and prevalence metabolic syndrome insulin resistance (IR) in Japanese population. Material/subjects methods: A total 518 eligible subjects (380 men 138 women) who attended Tokushima Prefectural General Health Checkup Center participated baseline survey a cohort conducted Prefecture, Japan were analyzed. Information about lifestyle characteristics including leisure-time exercise non-exercise was obtained from questionnaire. Logistic multiple linear regression analyses performed evaluate associations (beyond sitting) (and components) IR. Results: Subjects with longer had significantly lower adjusted odds ratios for (p trend =0.024), abdominal obesity =0.023), low HDL-cholesterol levels =0.002), after adjustment sex, age, other probable covariates exercise. Longer further associated homeostasis model assessment-IR (HOMA-IR) values =0.009). Conclusions: Our results suggest that abundant might be syndrome, especially components central levels, IR, independent
