摘要: BACKGROUND: Validation studies on brief food frequency questionnaires (FFQs) for measuring consumption of macro- and micro-nutrients the general populace are not fully executed in Japan.METHODS: Two hundred two middle-aged Japanese (73 males 129 females) Aichi Prefecture, Japan completed an FFQ 3day-weighed diet records (3d-WDRs) February 2004. We compared intakes energy 26 nutrients computed with against those 3d-WDRs as a reference.RESULTS: Mean daily selected determined were generally less than 3d-WDRs. The ratios assessed vs. (minimum - median maximum) distributed from 0.57 0.79 1.09 males, 0.61 0.86 1.04 females. De-attenuated, log-transformed energy-adjusted Pearson's correlation coefficients between quantified both devices 0.12 0.45 Spearman's rank 0.13 0.35 0.76, males. respective values females 0.10 0.38 0.66, 0.11 0.34 0.47. Median percentages exact agreement, agreement within adjacent categories, disagreement according to quartile classification nutrient measured methods 33, 74, 5 35, 76, 7 females, respectively.CONCLUSION: Satisfactorily high relative validity indices most attained questionnaire therefore appears applicable categorizing individuals dietary Japanese.J Epidemiol 2005;15:135-145.
