摘要: Abstract Susceptibility to gastric cancer may be in part attributable inter-individual variability metabolic activation or detoxification of carcinogens, and this context the polymorphic GSTM1 gene has been extensively studied. Seventeen reports detailing a possible association between deletion have published so far. In order examine risk associated with null genotype, meta-analysis case–control studies was undertaken using random effect model. Two were excluded because some data missing results. The principal outcome measure odds ratio for cancer. Pooling all 15 identified, overall deficiency 1.24 (95% confidence interval, 1.00–1.54). Furthermore, by pooling four interaction status smoking habits risk, an estimate 2.93 1.56–5.47) ever smokers compared non-smokers normal genotype emerged. These results suggest that probably no on per se, but modulate tobacco-related carcinogenesis Greater attention should therefore paid design future studies: only well designed population-based control considering confounding factors based sample size commensurate detection small genotypic allow more definitive conclusion.
