摘要: Background The aim of this study is to determine the need for a randomized controlled trial in order define role an elective neck dissection (END) treatment early tongue cancers. Methods We present large retrospective analysis patients with T1-2 N0 squamous cell cancers oral anterior treated at single institution. A total 359 eligible were divided into 2 groups: END and wait watch (WW). An survival outcomes prognostic factors was conducted. Results The estimated 3- 5-year disease-free group 76% 74% versus 71% 68% WW group, respectively (p = .53). The overall (OS) rate 69% 60% 62% .24). Tumor grade perineural invasion independent predictors recurrence. Conclusion END did not impact or OS. Current literature still remains on issue emphasizing trial. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
