摘要: Introduction: Inverted papilloma (IP) is a benign but locally aggressive sinonasal tumor. Those localized to the maxillary sinus or medial wall have classically been removed through an external approach. In recent years, endoscopic removal has advocated as effective, minimally invasive Successful management based on accurate intraoperative identification and complete resection of The surgical bone underlying surface IP less clearcut. Controversy exists whether bony undersurface should be removed. this article, histopathologic specimens preoperative radiologic studies are prospectively examined better understand involvement inverted papilloma. Materials Methods: A prospective study patients with treated endoscopic-assisted over 12-month period was conducted. Intraoperatively, site tumor attachment identified, 1- 2-cm wedge overlying en bloc analyzed under light microscopy. Preoperative radiographic were respect changes in area pedicle. Results: On analysis, surf/ce irregular multiple crevices all nine cases. two cases (22% specimens), isolated rest normal-appearingsalivary gland and/or mucosal tissue seen embedded bone. Radiographic osteitic at 100% cases. Conclusion: irregularity may hinder because microscopic rests mucosa can hidden within crevices. Intraoperative ensure more removal.
