摘要: We report the possibility of broad-band spectral modification based on quantum cutting (QC), which converts one UV or visible photon into two near-IR photons in Eu 2+ ―Yb 3+ ion co-doped aluminosilicate glasses. Metal Al powder is added to host glass composition reduce during melting air. The existence europium divalent state has been confirmed by absorption spectroscopy. Excitation and emission spectra as well fluorescence decay measurements have carried out examine occurrence cooperative energy transfer from Yb ions. QC process this system enables silicon-based solar cells more efficiently utilize broad wavelength region 250 500 nm, where show a weak response.
