摘要: Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-associated oral disease among people living with HIV infection includes candidiasis, hairy leukoplakia, Kaposi sarcoma, warts, herpes simplex ulcers, major aphthous ulcers or not otherwise specified, salivary gland disease, and atypical gingival periodontal diseases. Diagnosis of some lesions is based on clinical appearance behavior, whereas others require biopsy, culture, imaging for definitive diagnosis. Management strategies including pharmacologic nonpharmacologic approaches are discussed in this article. Dentists also need to be cognizant the potential side effects antiretroviral medications.
