摘要: Abstract The small-angle X-ray scattering curves for the 70, 50 and 30 s ribosomes from Escherichia coli have been measured. radii of gyration determined were 125, 77 69 A ribosome, respectively. Measurements relative molecular weights extrapolated forward-angle indicate that subunit has half weight subunit, but sum was found to be only 75% 70 ribosome. This result might influenced by a tendency particles aggregate. an RNA or RNA-protein tail detectably altered shape curve. Estimates dimensions made comparing with theoretical calculated uniform density ellipsoids cylinders. best fit data curve ellipsoid 55 × 220 A. without 115 230 ribosome approximated elliptical cylinder 135 200 400 possible model is discussed.
