摘要: Introduction. Several biomedical findings have established the effects of hypertension on haemostasis and roles blood coagulation products in clinical course hypertension. Methods. This cross-sectional study aimed at determining prothrombin time (PT) activated partial thromboplastin (APTT) hypertensive patients comparison with normotensive subjects attending a tertiary hospital Calabar. Forty-two (42) thirty-nine (39) control were investigated for PT APTT using Quick one-stage methods. Results. Systolic pressure (SBP) diastolic (DBP) correlated positively (r = 0.3072, r 0.4988; P < 0.05) patients. DBP, SBP, PT, significantly higher when compared to (P 0.05). DBP negatively duration illness −0.3097; age 0.3523; Conclusion. The results obtained indicated that measurements may serve as indices evaluating hemostatic abnormalities guide antihypertensive therapy. However, better understanding activities hypertension, it is recommended conduct D-dimer, platelet factors, protein assays.
