摘要: The temporal pattern of protein production and, in particular, vitellogenin synthesis during the sexual maturation Drosophila grimshawi females has been studied vivo by briefly feeding flies with 35S-methionine and 3H-amino acids. overall level incorporation was very low young flies; it then progressively increased to reach a maximum onset maturity at 13-15 days. Sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) analyses revealed three classes proteins: those synthesized throughout age spectrum, which constitute majority species; proteins primarily or only older flies. In this species, vitellogenins (V1, V2, V3) appeared be two-phase pattern. first phase, small quantities V1 V2 were detected immunologically fat body hemolymph newly emerged 1 day-old These did not accumulate ovaries, apparently being unstable proteins. second phase commenced early vitellogenesis (7-9 days age) followed V3 secreted accumulated themore » 24 h later found ovaries. Their rapidly steady state synthesis, release into hemolymph, uptake ovaries reached 13-15. We have estimated that fly can synthesize least 152 micrograms vitellogenins, is more than 2% its weight, an average rate about 6.3 vitellogenins/h. About 2 are body, 4 ovaries.« less
