摘要: We isolated recombinant genomic DNA clones containing sequences coding for the female-specific vitellogenin proteins of Drosophila grimshawi. By screening with cDNA derived from female fat body mRNA we were able to isolate all three genes, namely V1, V2 and V3. The identity these genes was established first by cell-free translation hybrid-selected followed protease digestion in vitro products second hybridization electrophoretically separated mRNAs. transcriptional orientation determined. V1 have opposite orientations their 5′-ends 1.75 kb apart. S1 analysis demonstrated that gene has exons 310, 400 980 bp length two introns about 120 bp. 300 1260 an intron 100 long. V3 250, 375 820 homology, both sequence structure, indicates they arisen duplication events ancestral gene. Moreover, similarity positions within genome distant species D. melanogaster grimshawi suggests a functional coupling during expression.
