摘要: Abstract This paper arises from a four-year Indonesian-German research cooperation on the governance and management of Indonesian coastal marine ecosystems. Project objectives were to investigate social-ecological dynamics feedbacks analyse socio-political institutional structures processes in order support adaptive governance. Participating researchers worked Spermonde Archipelago, off South Sulawesi, Indonesia, between 2007 2010. Methods included ship-based excursions, several classical surveys, anthropological participant observation, participatory methods applied by an interdisciplinary social-natural science team. summarises our findings draws policy conclusions. First, we discuss Marine Protected Areas participation focussing local “rules-in-use”. In addition, reef exploitation livelihoods, particular fisheries mariculture, existing social networks hierarchies are explored understand vulnerability, resilience resource context Archipelago. An outline major recommendations concludes this article.
