摘要: Abstract Strictly speaking, radiometric dates on minerals and rocks relate to a time temperature, during cooling, when diffusion of radiogenic nuclide out the system ceased, not crystallization. In deep-seated igneous metamorphic terrains there may be significant time-lag between crystallization termination episode. This review is mainly concerned with different types concordant discordant mineral whole rock age patterns produced in simple cooling history those which have been subjected more than one thermal leads discussion true geological significance, if any, obtained by various methods, as well validity histograms geochronology. Several published geochronological case histories are described, including British Caledonides, western Alps, Appalachian Belt North America eastern Great Basin Utah Nevada United States, serve illustrate these principles.
