Inhibitory Effect of Methyl Caffeate on Fos-Jun-DNA Complex Formation and Suppression of Cancer Cell Growth

摘要: The fos and jun proteins form a heterodimeric complex that interacts with the DNA regulatory element known as AP-1 binding site. To search for inhibitors of fos-jun-DNA formation, several natural plants extracts were screened. One them, methanol extract Perilla frutescens showed inhibitory effect against formation between fos-jun dimer site (TGAG/CTCA). Methyl caffeate dibutyl phthalate (DBP) isolated active constituents from P. by repeated column chromatography HPLC. And their IC50 values estimated 0.29 mM 0.55 mM, respectively. more potent inhibitor, methyl cytotoxic human cancer cell line (A549 K562).
