摘要: Summary Roe deer feeding habits were studied in the western Alps during summer season using faecal analysis method. The diet of cattle grazing same area was also investigated and trophical niche overlap between two species determined. roe found very variable mostly composed dicotyledons, with Leguminosae Cistaceae as prevalent species. Monocotyledons, mainly represented by Graminaceae, consumed to a lesser extent. A significant preference observed for other dicotyledons whereas refuse Graminaceae Asteraceae. These data confirmed deer's behaviour select food better nutritive value. Despite differences diets, quite high. This can be explained homogeneity plants covering whole which probably limited selection deer.
