Altered states of consciousness in disorders of daytime sleepiness

摘要: Patients with daytime sleepiness present altered states of consciousness. The occurrence these impairs their professional, social and familial activities may threaten life itself. automatic behavior syndrome is characterized by continuation mechanical activity complete amnesia. Episodes lasting from a few seconds to several hours are correlated repetitive micro-sleep periods. During cataplectic attacks, patients have meshing reality hallucinatory dream contents. Sleep-induced apnea lead abnormal movement ambulation during sleep as well hallucinations in the early morning. These consciousness must be considered diagnostic indexes differentiating epileptic syndromes sleepiness.
