摘要: Although asthma and other chronic physical conditions have been shown to be associated with psychiatric symptoms, the relative contributions of negative life events this association impaired quality (QOL) are not clear. This is a cross-sectional study nationally representative sample Singaporean adults aged 20–59 (n = 2,847). Individuals were grouped by asthma, conditions, no conditions. Participants assessed (list threatening experiences questionnaire), disorders [schedule for clinical assessment in neuropsychiatry diagnoses disorder including any disorder, major depressive (MDD) generalized anxiety (GAD)], QOL (medical outcomes 12-item short form). In multivariate analyses controlling confounding variables, compared both showed similarly (two- four-fold) elevated odds ratio (OR) MDD GAD. However, group reported more as (OR = 4.33, 95 % CI: 2.09–8.95) or (OR = 7.64, 3.87–15.06). Life accounted significantly excess coexistence over participants without It also contributed relatively worse observed among individuals asthma. study, Singapore appeared mediate co-occurrence functional impairment than should further investigated longitudinal studies.
