摘要: Amaranth seed oil was fractionated in a bench-scale short-path distillation unit to obtain fractions rich squalene. Fractionations were conducted with degummed amaranth oil, alkali-refined and simulated oil. Squalene concentration increased about sevenfold squalene recovery of 76.0% the distillate when at 180°C 3 mtorr vacuum. Free fatty acids codistilled squalene, lowering content distillate, resulted semisolid room temperature. Alkali-refining subsequently used reduce free acid before fractionation. A (7% squalene/93% soybean oil) three temperatures (160, 170, 180°C) five vacuum settings (10, 100, 200, 400, 600 mtorr). The highest recoveries from 73.4 67.8%, respectively, both 100 mtorr, which translates 12.1-and 9.2-fold increases concentration, respectively. not significantly different 10 vs. mtorr. results this study can be as component assess economic feasibility fractionating for starch, meal,
