摘要: Abstract This paper presents the effect of test parameters such as Impact velocity, configuration and target thickness on ballistic performance weldox steel plates against 7.62 mm APM2 projectile using Taguchi method. Trials were planned an L 18 orthogonal array with combinations variables to assess influence various factors. Numerical simulations have been carried out Ansys Autodyn code above three process variables. Failure mechanisms single multi-layered configurations also discussed. Most portion kinetic energy was expended in plastic deformation material before perforation due better bending stiffness plate. Results showed that impact velocity significant residual velocity. Layer found be insignificant relating performance. Significant interaction is observed between from plots. Simulated experimental results good agreement each other.
