摘要: The impetus to save electrical energy, improve control of manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency, downtime and cost have all contributed the proliferation adjustable speed drives induction motors. use drives, especially pulse width modulated types utilizing fast switching electronic devices such as IGBTs, has introduced another challenge motor manufacturers, repair facilities magnet wire manufacturers; namely, premature failure due stator winding insulation degradation. Conventional testing methods life do not include combined stresses repetitive dielectric thermal energy imposed on inverter duty service. intent this paper is provide information data related causes in motors subjected duty. Standard other alternative tests that could potentially predict are discussed. includes lifetime plots different builds using rectangular waveshapes, waveshape effects with drive/motor/cable combinations. voltage, temperature, build type also presented
