Nano-Wollastonite in Particleboard: Physical and Mechanical Properties

摘要: The effects of wollastonite nanofibers on the physical and mechanical properties particleboard were studied. Nano-wollastonite (NW), with size range 30 to 110 nm, was applied at 5, 10, 15, 20%, based dry weight wood chips, compared control specimens. Two application methods NW used: surface (SA) internal (IA). Density kept constant 0.68 g/cm3 for all treatments. Tests carried out in accordance ASTM D-1037 specifications. obtained results showed that formed bonds between chips improved properties, both when internally superficially. However, formation micro-cavities decreased integration matrix caused by a reduction chip content resulted decrease IA-NW-treated specimens higher consumption levels. It may be concluded 1.5% level can recommended use particleboards.
