摘要: Recent developments in rapid diagnostics for respiratory infections have mostly occurred the areas of antigen and nucleic acid detection. Nucleic amplification tests improved ability to identify viruses clinical specimens played pivotal roles characterization new viral pathogens. Antigen-detection assays immunochromatographic or similar formats are most easily developed as near-patient tests, although they been commercially only a limited range New approaches pathogen detection needed, breath analysis is an exciting area with enormous potential.
