摘要: Within the family of endogenous gasotransmitters, nitric oxide (NO) is smallest gaseous intercellular messenger involved in modulation several processes, such as blood flow and platelet aggregation control, essential to maintain vascular homeostasis. NO produced by synthases (NOS) its effects are mediated cGMP-dependent or cGMP-independent mechanisms. Growing evidence suggests a crosstalk between signaling occurrence oxidative stress onset progression diseases, hypertension, heart failure, ischemia, stroke. For these reasons, considered an emerging molecular target for developing therapeutic strategies cardio- cerebrovascular pathologies. Several natural derived compounds, polyphenols, now proposed modulators NO-mediated pathways. The aim this review highlight experimental on involvement homeostasis focusing potential targeting with some compounds patients diseases.
