摘要: We studied the effects of clear-cutting on ground-beetle (Coleoptera. Carabidae) assemblages in Canadian and Finnish boreal forest by comparing pitfall samples from young. regenerating forests with those natural. primary forests. More than half (15) 26 genera. but only four 108 species. were shared between two continents. On both carabid abundance was highest youngest sites (1-10 years since cutting) certain types forest. Species richness diversity higher Three numerical responses species to logging distinguished: (I ) open habitat appeared and/or increased abundance; (2) generalists not dramatically affected occurred all or most types; (3) specialists disappeared after cutting. Most each three groups taxonomically closely related Our results suggest that biotic can be maintained throughout a general management approach maximizes regional scale. However. knowledge local conditions fauna will essential conserve specific Iiller dwelling invertebrates. K.J. Oaslllll. T.R.
