摘要: Cylindrospermopsin (CYN) and microcystins (MC) are cyanotoxins that can occur simultaneously in contaminated water food. CYN/MC-LR mixtures previously investigated vitro showed an induction of micronucleus (MN) formation only the presence metabolic fraction S9. When this is case, European Food Safety Authority recommends a follow up to vivo testing. Thus, rats were orally exposed 7.5 + 75, 23.7 237, 75 750 μg CYN/MC-LR/kg body weight (b.w.). The MN test bone marrow was performed, standard modified comet assays carried out measure DNA strand breaks or oxidative damage stomach, liver, blood cells. results revealed increase marrow, at all assayed doses. However, no nor induced, as shown assays. histopathological study indicated alterations highest dose group. Liver target organ showing fatty degeneration necrotic hepatocytes centrilobular areas, well light mononuclear inflammatory periportal infiltrate. Additionally, stomach had flaking epithelium mild necrosis epithelial Therefore, combined exposure may induce genotoxic vivo.
