Why Did Sudanese End Stage Renal Failure Patients Refuse Renal Transplantation

摘要: Renal transplantation remains the most effective treatment of End Stage Failure (ESRF). In this cross sectional study we explore reasons behind refusal renal among adults’ Sudanese haemodialysis patients. The subjects are ESRF patients on regular in 15 haemdoialysis centres Khartoum/Sudan. All who were interviewed by questionnaire to transplantation. A total 1583 have been participated study, 381 (24.1%) refused kidney mean age refusing was (58.5 + 15.1 years); 77.4% them ≥50 years old, 59.2% males and 88.1% unemployed, older than 50 old unemployed tend refuse (P < 0.001). main reason that accept from living donors (34.8%). 17.6% decline because financial reason, 18.1% do fear transplant surgery, 15.7% believe is against their religious values, 11.9% they don’t enough knowledge transplantation, only 0.5% side effect immunosuppressive drugs. conclusion, found elderly important accepting donation related donors. This reflects need for development cadaveric program Sudan. education counseling
