摘要: AbstractInhalation of ambient air particles or engineered nanoparticles (NP) handled as powders, dispersions sprays in industrial processes and contained consumer products pose a potential largely unknown risk for incidental exposure. For efficient, economical ethically sound evaluation health hazards by inhaled nanomaterials, animal-free realistic vitro test systems are desirable. The new Nano Aerosol Chamber in-vitro Toxicity studies (NACIVT) has been developed fully characterized regarding its performance. NACIVT features computer-controlled temperature humidity conditioning, preventing cellular stress during exposure allowing long-term exposures. Airborne NP deposited out continuous stream simultaneously on up to 24 cell cultures Transwell® inserts, high-throughput screening.
