摘要: Surgical lengthening of limbs often results in loss range joint movement and this has been shown to be associated with an increase passive tension collagen content the muscles. In study, we have investigated length/tension properties connective tissue component muscle distracted at three different rates order determine whether low distraction would enable component, as well contractile (number serial sarcomeres), adapt more completely increased functional length thus lead improved movement. It was found that varied rate distraction. At rate, there no change or compared muscles from sham-operated animals, significantly greater than other rates. medium although showed good adaptation terms sarcomere number, reduced, indicating changes are important factors case a high failure fibres add on sufficient sarcomeres, combined tissue, resulted almost total Anat Rec 255:78–83, 1999. © 1999 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
