摘要: This is a review of two invited talks on the antiglobulin reaction occasion 50th Anniversaries International Blood Group Reference Laboratory, now at Bristol, and National Service, London, coincidentally 51st anniversary test! The first talk (as specially requested) very personal reminiscence discovery, with Rob Race Arthur Mourant, test in blood group serology. second traces developments testing general immunology using, course, isotype-specific reagents as when they became available. Special emphasis was given to: (1) for poorly agglutinating bacterial antibodies; (2) special procedures measuring reaginic (IgE) antibodies to various allergens; (3) incorporation an step or stage many routine automated immunoassay procedures; (4) experimental form mixed reactions reveal surface antigens tissue cells, and, finally, (5) by chemically coupling red distinctive integrated system developed, enabling reverse passive haemagglutination assay immunoglobulins, rosetting native IgG receptors lymphocytes antibody immunoglobulin reacting CD marker antigens; this same reagent, namely red-cell-labelled antiglobulin, can be used detect either bacteria adsorbed walls wells microtitre plates. need improved stabilization preservation antiglobulin-linked cells prolong their ‘shelf-life’ stressed.
