摘要: It has been proposed that β-phenylethylamine (PE) may be equivalent to, or mediate, the effects of d-amphetamine. This hypothesis assessed in terms a comparison general stimulus profiles these two compounds. From literature it is apparent PE and d-amphetamine share similar discriminative properties. demonstrated for with without MAO inhibition. An analysis on self-stimulation indicates their are this paradigm when administered presence inhibitor but not its absence. Self-administration experiments have shown both compounds act as rewards reinforcers different species. is, however, ineffective induction taste aversions, marked contrast to The implications data, results some neurochemical analyses, possible functional role discussed.
