摘要: We describe analytical and numerical methods for calculating forces between conductors due to variations of electrostatic surface potential across their surfaces. In the simple case where spatial variation gives rise uniform power spectra, we show that force can be large in comparison with, scale approximately same way with distance closest approach as, Casimir force. Patch potentials are consistent existing experimental data could give a magnitude 4% at separations 0.1 microm.
