摘要: We analyze van der Waals interactions between two rigid polymers with sequence-specific, anisotropic polarizabilities along the polymer backbones, so that dipole moments fluctuate parallel to backbones. Assuming each has a quenched-in polarizability sequence which reflects, for example, polynucleotide of double-stranded DNA molecule, we study interaction energy pair such rod-like structure cases where their respective sequences are (i) distinct and (ii) identical, both zero non-zero correlation length correlator backbones in latter case. For identical polymers, find novel r−5 scaling behavior small inter-polymer separation r, contradistinction r−4 furthermore pronounced angular dependence favoring attraction sufficiently aligned ide...
